Devarajan is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia Business School, where he has served for over a decade, teaching a variety of classes on disruptive technology, media, entrepreneurship and storytelling including:
- Virtual Reality & Artificial Intelligence
- Media Marketing and Entrepreneurship
- Transmedia & Transcreation
- Just Capital and Cause Driven Marketing (co-taught with author, Deepak Chopra)
Devarajan is also a media entrepreneur and producer. He founded India’s top character entertainment company, Graphic India as the culmination of his lifelong dream to create superheroes and stories that unlock the unique creativity of India but appeal to audiences worldwide - transforming the perception of India from being an ‘outsourcer” to being ‘the source.’
Over his career Devarajan has created and produced over 200 animated TV/digital episodes and either published, edited or created over 300 comic books and graphic novels. Previously he was CEO of Virgin Comics (later renamed Liquid Comics), which he founded with Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Group.
For his activities, Mr. Devarajan was featured as CNNfn’s ‘Maverick in The Morning’ and covered in numerous media including The Wall Street Journal, Businessweek, Time, Newsweek, The New York Times, Fox News, CNN, Bloomberg and NPR’s Fresh Air and has been an avid speaker on media and globalization at Fortune’s Global Summit; The Paley Center International Summit; The Wall Street Journal’s, WSJD Live Laguna Conference; INK Talks; RISE; TEDX; Harvard Business School; and more.
